Mentoring Program

WHAT IS THE MENTORING PROGRAM?

The object of the Pass the Torch CMT Mentoring Program is to assist CMT exam candidates in preparing for the certification exam by pairing candidates with CMT mentors within the chapter who would work closely with the candidate in mentoring through the exam preparation process.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM?

Any registered exam candidate, whether GJC-AHDI member or not, is eligible for our mentoring program.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

A mentoring program candidate, upon registering for the exam, would be assigned to a CMT mentor and given the mentoring kit, which contains practice tapes, sample tests, and a transcriber. The CMT mentor would stay in close contact with the candidate to provide insight about the exam and the material covered as well as detailed proofreading and feedback on practice transcripts, meeting with and counseling with the candidate as often as both parties deem necessary.

HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?

Contact AHDI at 1-800-982-2182 or www.ahdionline.org for exam registration information. Once registered, contact  Demi Monaco at dmonaco06@comcast.com for pretesting. A minimal fee ($15 for GJC/AHDI members and $25 for non-members) is collected to help cover the cost of materials.
